Looking to get caught up on all things database tools?

These are a few of our favorite things…

Here’s where and when you can find us in Las Vegas, and what we’ll be talking about! Note these talk titles and times are correct as of August 28th, 2023. For the latest schedule, please check the online catalog!

HOL : Hands on Lab
LRN : Learning Session
CTT : Community Theater Tech
THR : Theater Session
DIG : Digital / On Demand

Also, if you see references to Database World, don’t be confused! That’s the collection of database content at Cloud World.

Tuesday the 19th

Build Powerful, Secure REST APIs for Your Oracle Autonomous Database [HOL2240]
1:30 PM – 3:00 PM PDT

This Hands-On Lab will help you get started with your first REST API, and secure it with an OAuth2 client. Two of our product managers will be there to guide you, teach you a bit, take your questions.

You can bring your own database or borrow one of ours!

Or you can just sit back and watch them do the Lab while you take notes.

Wednesday the 20th

Unlock the Power of Command Line Database Development with SQLcl [LRN3646]
9:45 AM – 10:30 AM

We’ll introduce or re-acquaint you with our modern command-line interface for the database, SQLcl.

How to install it, get started, and learn some of the features!

11:00 AM – 11:45 AM PDT

My REST APIs are slow, how do I fix it? This talk will share our best practices around performance diagnostics and tuning of your Oracle Database REST APIs.

Where is the go faster button???

Deploy Oracle APEX Apps in the Time It Takes to Make Your Morning Coffee [CTT3585
1:35 PM – 1:55 PM PDT

This is a theater talk right on the showroom floor, so think carnival barker style 🙂 We’ll show you how you can use our enhanced Liquibase technology to push APEX and ORDS REST API updates to your database alongside your schema changes, all via SQLcl generated changeLogs.

That lab is here.

Develop Python Web App w/Oracle Autonomous Database Low-Code REST APIs [HOL2241]
5:00 PM – 6:30 PM PDT

Another hands-on lab, but this one shows how to utilize REST APIs in a Python Flask powered web application. Generate maps from an Oracle Database sourced list of museums with corresponding spatial data!

We supply most of the code & the REST APIs, and we’ll teach you how to stitch them together!

Thursday the 21st

Introducing SQL Developer Next [THR3613]
8:30 AM – 8:50 AM PDT

Get a preview of our newest addition to the SQL Developer family!

Demo plus answers to your questions!

Take Control of Your Database with Automated Schema Changes [HOL2234]
12:30 PM – 2:00 PM PDT

Another hands on lab, this one is about using SQLcl to capture and deploy schema changes with SQLcl and Liquibase.

We’ll be playing with some IMDB movie data, no boring EMPLOYEES this time around.

Configure JDBC with Vault, OAuth2.0, Centralized Config and OpenTelemetry [LRN3612]
1:45 PM – 2:30 PM PDT

This talk is a bit special, you will have both Kris Rice and Jean de Lavarne on stage. Kris leads up all DB Tools development and Jean leads work on the JDBC driver and our Universal Connection Pools (UCP) technology! I would say this is a great chance to do a meet and greet especially if you do database appdev with Java.
